Matt and I decided to head up to Pittsburgh to watch the Steelers take on the Cardinals in Super Bowl 43.
Leaving around 8:30 Saturday night and arriving in Charleston around 1:30 am, we were very tired yet very excited. We spent some time chatting with Dan before bed.
After catching up on some sleep, we finally left Charleston around noon and drove to Washington. Upon arrival Matt started watching pregame coverage on the Robinson's new giant TV and I chatted with Sally.
Around game time the guests started to arrive. I do not think that I have ever truly watched a whole football game the intense way I watched this one. The game was exciting to say the least and the Steelers finally sealed the deal after an explosive fourth quarter.
After the game we headed up to the Rhodes for some wings and some post game chat. Then it was onto Pittsburgh to celebrate with all of the other ecstatic fans.
The Super Bowl parade was on Tuesday at noon. It was a hot 28 degrees in the steel city so we made sure to bundle up before joining the other 350,000 people to congratulate the record breaking team.
We really had a blast before making our journey home...in the snow. The long nights and many miles were all worth it to spend the weekend in PA!
I have some more pictures of our trip that I will post later :-) Check out PittsburghSkyline for some of Matt's pictures from our weekend
